CYPT Prep! – Summer Drama Day Camp at
The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts
The Covedale Center for the Performing Arts located at 4990 Glenway Avenue in
West Price Hill, continues its CYPT Prep Program for young performers,
ages 10 through 13 this summer!
Classes will encompass acting, improvisation, theatre skills, music and a final
performance on the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts stage – and all
taught by experienced instructors.
Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre (CYPT) Prep program will be an excellent
preparation for young performers who may wish to audition for the
award-winning Cincinnati Young People’s Theatre teen program or audition for
“the Covedale’s” regular season shows (when age-appropriate roles are available
in a cast) when they are old enough.
Musical Theatre - Summer Drama classes:
June 13 – 16, 2016, 9 am to 2 pm.
Classes will be held in the Rehearsal Studio, located in the new backstage
addition to the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts.
Tuition for CYPT Prep is just $100.00.
A limited amount of funds are in place to assist with the participation fee.
Funds are distributed on a confidential basis. If you are interested in

Admission to the final performance is free.
Admission the program is on a first-come basis. Registration is available

The Summer Drama Program will feature experienced instructors:
Katey Blood is
excited to be returning as an instructor with CYPT PREP. Katey is an 8th
grade Social Studies teacher at Camp Ernst Middle School where she acts as dance
choreographer for the musicals. Katey also choreographs for Cooper High
School and Boone County High School and is the Speech and Drama coach at Cooper
high school. Choreography credits include: "Godspell" "Singing in
the Rain", "Annie, Jr", "Anything Goes", "Once Upon a Mattress", "Suessical",
"Willy Wonka, Jr.", "Bugsy Malone", "West Side Story", "Guys and Dolls", and
"Grease". Katey is very involved in local theatre. She was
recently seen onstage in "Extremities" and "The Producers", both at the Incline
Theatre. She had also been in the award winning production of "Streetcar Named
Desire" with Cincinnati Landmark Production (Covedale Center
for the Performing Arts). Other credits include: Footlighter's
production of "Godspell", Mrs. Gibbs in "Our Town" (Footlighters), Sheila in
"The Boys Next Door" (Brieabi Productions), Doris in "Same Time Next Year"
(Mariemont Players), Girl/Ensemble in the CEA award winning production of
"Parade" (Footlighters), and Annie Sullivan in " The Miracle Worker" (Ovation
happy to be working with CYPT PREP once again this summer. Linda is a graduate from
Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Music Education, and also
studied at Ohio University, and California State, Northridge. Linda has been the Director/Music
Director or accompanist for over one hundred musicals in the greater Cincinnati
and Los Angeles areas. While living
in Los Angeles, Linda gained experience in musical theatre, music videos,
commercials and television. Besides
teaching choral music, musical theatre, and drama for over twenty years, Linda
has directed twenty school musicals while working in the Lakota, Oak Hills and
Los Angeles Unified School Districts.
She has written and directed church musicals as well as being a church
musician. Linda has also taught
private voice and piano, and loves working with students of all ages. Linda is the 2011 recipient of the
Lakota Educator of Excellence Award.
